particles bed surface elevation in sediment transport around a pile

Dear all,

I am a beginner in LIGGGHTS

I am trying to simulate the sediment transport around the pile as posted https://www.cfdem.com/forums/simulating-erosion-and-deposition-around-pile

So, I have wondered how to compare the scour depth with experimental data.

My reference paper is cited as "Roulund, A., Sumer, B. M., Fredsøe, J., & Michelsen, J. (2005). Numerical and experimental investigation of flow and scour around a circular pile. Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 534, 351-401."

This paper performed the experiments and compared their numerical results.

The results are compared using bed shear stress coefficients, and scour profile along the length of the longitudinal symmetry axis.

My results indicate particle transport and erosion around the pile to some extent.

so, the questions are as follows,

1. A method of determining the z-coordinates of the particles located on the surface of the bed for comparison with the scour profile of the experiment results.

2. is there a way to compare the bed shear stress coefficients in CFDEM coupling?

I showed the z-coordinate contours of particles located on the surface of the bed using a void fraction value of 0.66. But I think it is not correct.

Any answers or advice are welcome.

Any insights/comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
