Is it possible in LIGGGHTS to do simulation with 2D granular packing with CAD imported in?

regular array of granular particles in 2D and 3D
Thanks Christoph,
But in new version of LIGGGHTS, there is no command to make 2D array of particles (like cubic base, center base etc). Any other way to create such crystalline structure of granular systems both in 2D and 3D?
