handle particles continuously go into and out of the domain

Hi everyone,

Is CFDEM able to simulate the case when solids are continuously fed and removed from the domain? Like slurry transportation through a fluidized bed? I think the main problem here is the mass conservation of fluid flow field. Cyclic boundary might not be able to do the job since in my case slurry particles interact with fluidized medium and I need fresh slurry to be fed into the domain to keep a constant mass flow rate.

Best,
Linhan

Hello Linhan,
CFDEMcoupling is able to handle cases, where particles enter/leave the domain. You would then have a flux over the boundaries, which should be fine.
