Hi Everyone,
I am new to OpenFoam and CFDEM. I have been trying to install CFDEM and I am stuck in activating the new bashrc file. After I execute this:
#- set the cfdem environment variables correctly
gedit $WM_PROJECT_INST_DIR/$USER-$WM_PROJECT_VERSION/src/lagrangian/cfdemParticle/etc/bashrc &
Should I paste the contents in the bashrc file in home directory or just activate the bashrc using command . ~/.bashrc?
I tried both, and I find this in my bashrc file:
#- source OpenFOAM-1.7.x
. $HOME/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/etc/bashrc
#- enable parallel compiling
export WM_NCOMPPROCS=2
#- source OpenFOAM-1.7.x
. $HOME/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/etc/bashrc
#- enable parallel compiling
export WM_NCOMPPROCS=2
#- source OpenFOAM-1.7.x
. $HOME/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-1.7.x/etc/bashrc
#- enable parallel compiling
export WM_NCOMPPROCS=2
and this goes on and on until I stop the activation by CTRL C. I am quite new to Linux too. It is quite strange that the above messages have 1.7.x version while I am installing 2.1.0 version of OpenFoam.
Where am I going wrong? I would appreciate any help in this regard from the CFDEM community.
Warm regards,
Apurv

Hi! your are most probably
Hi!
your are most probably mixing up things - the installation procedure
system/files/setup_LIGGGHTS__OpenFoamR_CFDEM_2p0_on_Ubuntu1004_24052011.txt
is a complete procedure for OF 1.7.1 and CFDEM.
You might adapt it for 2.0.x if you want, some difficulties were reported for 2.1.0 - so i do not recommend to use it currently.
Cheers,
Chris
