The LIGGGHTS 1.X branch release policy

We would recommend you to use the "liggghts" repository if
+ you are a pure user of LIGGGHTS (with no code development being performed).

We would recommend you to use the "liggghtsdev" repository if
+ you always want to be up-to-date with the latest features and bug fixes
+ you are one of our academic or industrial partners with ongoing code development cooperation, or
+ you perform or intend to perform model development

The latter two points apply because the "liggghtsdev" repository is updated more frequently, so we can employ improvements more quickly.

The following policy applies:

+ Bug reports are taken for the most recent "liggghtsdev" version only, not for "liggghts" versions
+ New features are developed for the most recent "liggghtsdev" version only.
