Interaction Sphere-Facet

Hi all,

I use the version 1.2.5 and I have this warning when spheres are in contact with triangular facets:

WARNING: Dangerous build in triangle neighbor list.

Please, can you give more information about this error message ?

Moreover, please can you indicate me the function where the neighbor list between spheres and facets is built. I use the function fix_wall_gran_hertz_history

Ps: Do you think that the sphere-facet contact implemented into LIGGGHTS is enough precise to solve problem where spheres go in contact with a pyramid (e.g., as proposed by Martin Koester on the forum: Whats wrong with my mesh/gran simulation). ?

Hi JF,

all this is done in fix_tri_neighlist.h/cpp. Unfortunately a (severe) bug slipped in there in the current -dev version. Will be fixed in the upcoming release next week! If you have fix_tri_neighlist.h/cpp from 2 or 3 versions before, feel free to try to replace it with that

Yes I think so. There will be some precision improvement for the case where the triangles are considerably smaller than the spheres, but for any other case it should work fine (as soon as the bug is fixed).
