Installing LIGGGHTS-Public 3.6 on Windows 7. CMake and Visual Studio 2010

Submitted by alit85 on Sat, 03/25/2017 - 23:37

A beginner here. Successfully cloned LIGGGHTS 3.6.
Successfully made and build VTK 7.1.1 using CMake and VS2010.
No issue in making LIGGGHTS 3.6 with CMake. However, building in VS2010 shows 157 errors!!

It would be so so great, if anyone has recently installed LIGGGHTS on any windows platform (preferably Win 7) using Visual Studio (preferably 2010) and can give some help.

1st Install mpich2-win64: http://www.mpich.org/static/downloads/1.4.1p1/mpich2-1.4.1p1-win-x86-64.msi to c:\mpich2_64\
1a) put c:\mpich_64\bin into system PATH variable.
2nd here is my CMAKE-build chain (differs in some points from official versions because we use it for some more branches of liggghts internaly):

3rd I'm not sure if VS2010 supports erf.h, I think you need to include it from the src/windows/extra/ folder, I prefer VS 2015 which support erf.h and some other headers.
When you only need to run liggghts without self-compiling, here is fresh 3.6.0 windows 64bit version (needs vcredist_x64 for VS2015):

good luck,
Christian.
